About Norwood

Norwood: Our Pioneering Days -  

Norwood Industries Inc. was founded nearly fifteen years ago for one purpose - to develop an affordable full-sized portable band sawmill. 

For years, Norwood founder Peter Dale, dreamed of owning his own sawmill but he couldn't justify the exorbitant prices demanded at the time.

Figuring that he wasn't alone wanting but unable to afford the expensive sawmills and questioning why no one was offering a reasonably priced machine, he set about designing the very first LumberMate from the ground up.  In doing so, he created an entirely new category of sawmills - those capable of efficiently producing quality lumber year after year at a price that people can afford.

Norwood has grown dramatically since our first pioneering days but we haven't forgotten our original philosophy -

We are committed to providing hard-working people with reliable, productive, no-nonsense equipment at affordable prices.

Norwood: Dedication -

With that in mind, Norwood is dedicated to developing new technology and new equipment to help people work on their land, work in their forests and mill and process their own lumber.

To serve our customers' unique and demanding needs, we have expanded our stable of sawmills and developed a host of other hard-working equipment, including a portable board edger, a range of log-skidders and tree harvesting tools, and practical ATV and tractor attachments.

Norwood is still a family-run company.  We deeply value both our customers and our dedicated staff, and count them as members of our family.
