New Log Moulding and Planing on Your Mill!

New Log Moulding and Finishing Capabilities for Personal Sawmill Owners

Norwood’s New Log Moulder 410

The increasing appeal of custom post and beam and log homes has created
a demand from sawyers who want to make finished build-ready logs. We’re answering our customers’ needs by announcing one of the most exciting products in many years – the Log Moulder 410. The LM410 doesn’t only increase the productivity of sawyers – it opens up new business opportunities for all sawyers – building logs, finished posts, moulded columns – ready for use or sale.

Norwood, in cooperation with our European friend Logosol, has introduced the Log Moulder 410. The 410 puts commercial-grade log-building and custom log-moulding capabilities into the hands of all sawyers.

“The LM410 came about as a result of hearing our customers’’, says A. Dale, Vice-President of Norwood, “Some dream of building their own log homes. Others, large woodlot owners, see commercial opportunities in building logs and custom-finished, specialty-moulded beams and pillars. The 410 meets all those needs.”

The Log Moulder’s throat size easily handles beams as big as 24” wide by 24” high. But the real secret to the LM410 is that it works with a sawmill – it mounts on a mill’s rails. Because the log is supported by the sawmill bed, the Log Moulder can handle oversize, overlength beams and boards that would choke anything but the biggest industrial planer/moulders.

Norwood’s Log Moulder fits both the LumberMate 2000 and LumberLite 24 sawmills. Because the 410’s adjustable carriage wheels can be configured from 33” to 38” apart, the Log Moulder also works on the LumberMate Mark 3 and Mark 4 models, and most personal sawmills made by other manufacturers.

The capacity of Norwood’s 410 gives it unparalleled versatility. If you want to create a variety of shapes and finishes, the Log Moulder could be the answer. With the LM410, you can create dozens of finished surfaces. You can smoothly plane large beams and boards. You can mould cants to make unique pillars, posts, and columns. You can accurately joint and mould timbers for log-home construction. You can even finish and sculpt oversized boards to make unique furniture.

As well as being versatile, the Log Moulder is efficient. Square a log on your mill, then, without moving the cant, fire up the 410 and immediately plane, joint or mould it. Go from raw log to fully finished product, two operations, all on one single platform.

Whether you own a Norwood sawmill, or one from another manufacturer, Norwood’s Log Moulder 410 can add production log moulding and finishing capability to your operation. Click here or contact us to find out more about Norwood’s Log Moulder 410.
