Here is our log home we built with our LumberMate 2000 sawmill we purchased in 2004. We sawed all the logs off our own property and sawed the wood to make our cabinets and flooring. We can’t say enough about the LumberMate 2000. We haven’t had to do a thing to it. We recommend it to anyone who’s interested in purchasing one.

My Lumbermate 2000 got delivered at about 3:00PM on Tuesday afternoon (April 28, 2009), just like we planned it.The shipment was in pristine condition, and I was able to offload it from the back of the trailer truck using my Gehl skid steer.

You’ll have your mill before you know it. Then you’ll find that you can’t resist the urge to get it assembled asap. As soon as it’s done, you’ll rush to put your first log on it and start milling. Then you open the first face, admire the results, get it squared into a cant, feel the rush as the boards roll out, and you’re hooked.

The LumberMate 2000 with Briggs & Stratton 23hp is an excellent choice in my opinion. It’s a good mill at a good price.The frame and rail system of the 2000 is very strong and you’re not likely to have problems there.

Regarding making your saw mobile, the trailer package from Norwood is a very good product. I have had my saw on the trailer since new and all milling is done while on the trailer, using the 6 support legs – haven’t had any problems.

Here is our 1900 sq. ft. house in the Cascade mountains. From the 2”x6” fir construction, beams, hemlock flooring and cupboards, beveled cedar siding, cedar paneled ceilings and trimming, wide-plank decking … all off the Norwood and from our own logs.

It’s been years since I visited the lumber yard.

The LumberMate 2000 is one of the simplest, easy to maintain pieces of equipment or “tool” that I have ever seen. You would be wasting your time, and probably more money, to even consider any other mill in this price range. Really, for the money, it is as near perfect a machine as I could imagine. I got 1 blade with my LumberMate from Norwood and it’s the best blade I’ve ever had. I bought a bunch from Wood-Mizer, they are good blades too but they dull faster and I can’t always count on them to cut smooth. I started with 15 Mizer blades and one Norwood. I use them all and then sharpen them and now I have 6 Mizer blades left and still have the 1 Norwood blade. The next box of blades I‘m buying is definitely from Norwood!
